Major Airport – Master Systems Integration
A proper governance model and communications strategy is required to set and manage expectations for the wide range of stakeholders involved in any new airport project. For example, how does the contractor react and organize after unforeseen issues present themselves, while burdened with a politically-engaged and committed “opening date”?
AAC were tasked by the Lead Contractor on a major airport development to write the MSI (Master System Integrator) requirements and framework to ensure that when the project moved from design to construction the processes would be in place for delivery of passenger terminal technology and ensure proper alignment of the technology to the airport’s concept of operation. The primary systems considered were
- Airport Operation Systems (AOS)
- Passenger Processing Systems (PLB, HVTS)
- Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)
- Safety & Security Systems (SSE)
- Telecommunication Systems (ICT)
AAC delivered the project on time and in the words of the construction manager “exceeded expectations”.
